Brighten Haiti is ready to scale exponentially, to do this we need your help. With enough volunteers, we can spread the workload, so each volunteer can make a difference by just helping a few hours a month, massively changing the lives of people who don’t have electricity. Are you in?

Technical Advisors
Role: Provide expert advice on off-grid solar technology, project management, and sustainability practices to ensure the success of our programs.
Specializations:
· - Off-Grid Solar Designers: Design off-grid solar systems tailored to the needs of Haitian communities.
· - Equipment Evaluators: Assess the suitability, cost, and performance of solar equipment for specific projects.
· - Pre-Sale / Site Survey Mentors & Designers: Guide and mentor teams in conducting site surveys and designing solar solutions.
Accounting Roles
Role: Support Brighten Haiti’s financial management by assisting with accounting tasks, including managing budgets for both US and Haiti operations, financial reporting, and filing 990 forms with the IRS.
Skills Needed: Experience in accounting, knowledge of nonprofit financial practices, and familiarity with IRS requirements for 990 filings.
Procurement Specialist
Role: Source and manage the procurement of solar equipment and other materials needed for Brighten Haiti’s projects.
Skills Needed: Experience in procurement, vendor management, and supply chain logistics.
International Shipping / Logistics Specialist
Role: Manage ocean container shipments from the US to Haiti, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of solar equipment and other materials.
Skills Needed: Experience in international shipping, logistics, and customs regulations.
These positions are crucial to advancing Brighten Haiti’s mission, and volunteers will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience.
Salesforce Admin
Role: Help set up and establish Brighten Haiti’s Salesforce platform for US fundraising and Haiti sales. Train Brighten Haiti solar apprentices on its effective use and work with them monthly to ensure it is used properly.
Marketing Team
Website Developers:
Role: Assist in updating and maintaining Brighten Haiti’s website, ensuring it effectively communicates our mission and updates visitors on our projects.
Skills Needed: Experience in web development, SEO, and content management systems.
Graphic Designers:
Role: Create visually appealing materials for Brighten Haiti’s campaigns, events, and online presence.
Skills Needed: Proficiency in graphic design software, creativity, and attention to detail.
Social Media Managers:
Role: Develop and execute social media strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and donations for Brighten Haiti.
Skills Needed: Experience in social media strategy, content creation, and analytics.
Content Creators
Role: Create compelling content, such as blog posts, videos, and newsletters, to share the stories and impact of Brighten Haiti’s work.
Skills Needed: Writing, video editing, photography, and graphic design skills.
Social Media Ambassadors
Role: Share, repost, and comment on Brighten Haiti social media content regularly. Create and share content, engage with followers, and promote campaigns.
Event Coordinator and Support
Role: Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, including the Over the Edge event and other community engagement activities.
Skills Needed: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in event planning.
Fundraising Manager and Volunteers
Role: Support our fundraising efforts by reaching out to potential donors, helping with grant writing, and organizing fundraising campaigns.
Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, experience in fundraising or sales, and enthusiasm for the cause.
Outreach Ambassadors
Role: Build relationships with solar companies for equipment and cash donations, sponsorships, and engage Corporations, NGOs, and Rotary Clubs to sponsor projects in Haiti.
Skills Needed: Strong networking skills, experience in corporate outreach or fundraising, and a passion for renewable energy and international development.
Administrative Support
Role: Provide general administrative assistance as needed, including data entry, managing communications, and supporting operations.
Skills Needed: Organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with office software.
Volunteer Coordinator
Role: Work with Kevin Keene to identify needed help and delegate responsibilities to volunteers. Understand their capacity to volunteer on a weekly/monthly basis. Help recruit new volunteers by reaching out to potential candidates, conducting interviews, and managing volunteer onboarding.
Skills Needed: Strong communication skills, experience in recruitment or human resources.
